Get involved
This downtown gets built by citizens and voters.
Everything this movement has won came from volunteers: thousands of hours of surveying, canvassing, and research. There's a way to help that fits your schedule, whether you have an evening a month or five minutes on your phone.
Ways to help
Pick the one that fits you.
City Council meetings
Decisions about downtown are made in the council chamber, and cities listen to rooms full of residents. Come when downtown projects are on the agenda, or simply be there so the council sees the movement is still growing. We'll email you when the moments that matter come up.
Canvassing
Volunteers built this movement one conversation at a time. Join a canvassing team and help us talk with neighbors about what downtown was, what the plan makes possible, and how they can add their voice.
Petitions at local events
Farmers markets, festivals, art and wine weekends: wherever Santa Clara gathers, we set up a table. Help us collect signatures and sign up new members at local events. It's friendly work, and it's how most of our 5,300 and counting citizens and voters found us.
Social media
Follow us, share our posts, and tell the story in your own words. Every share reaches someone who doesn't know Santa Clara ever had a downtown — or that there's an approved plan to bring it back.
Talk to your neighbors
The simplest thing you can do is also one of the most powerful. Mention the movement at the dinner table, at church, at the park. Point people to this website. Word of mouth is how a mistake from 1964 becomes a cause in 2026.
Volunteer your talents
Writers, researchers, photographers, planners, organizers, translators: the movement runs on donated skills. Whatever you're good at, there's a job for it. Reach out and tell us how you'd like to help.
Not sure where to start? Add your name to the movement and we'll email you when there's a meeting to attend, an event to table, or a moment where your voice makes the difference.
